Ivan is a project manager in the offshore wind team at the Carbon Trust. Ivan manages R&D projects for the Electrical Systems and Cable Installation research areas of the £100m Offshore Wind Accelerator. In addition, Ivan leads delivery of cost modelling projects, with an additional focus on the Japanese offshore wind market.

Ivan manages R&D projects for the Electrical Systems and Cable Installation research areas of the £100m Offshore Wind Accelerator, with an additional focus on the Japanese offshore wind market.Ivan has particular strengths in quantitative analysis and Excel modelling, building on a skillset developed during his Natural Sciences degree. In a previous role at the Carbon Trust, Ivan was responsible for implementing business strategy through prioritisation of business opportunities and preparation of tenders with values extending into millions of pounds.

In previous employment with specialist consultants Considerate Hoteliers, I have been responsible for developing and implementing CSR, sustainable procurement and environmental strategies for hospitality businesses, including world famous luxury hotel collections. I was also responsible for the analysis and delivery of annual environmental performance reports for both international and domestic clients, working particularly with French and German businesses.

As a Policy and Markets Analyst, I have been part of the team preparing a Technology Innovation Needs Assessment for the Industrial sector, outlining recommended pathways for sector decarbonisation to 2050. My skills have been applied to this role with Microsoft Excel modelling of predicted energy cost savings and gross value added figures. Moreover, I have produced reports that will be used by DECC to influence innovation policy and funding.

Projects undertaken include producing energy analysis reports for the Carbon Trust Low Carbon Workplace buildings, such as comparing the correlation between energy use and occupancy. Additionally I have been part of a team responsible for the creation and continuous development of a Climate Change Cities Diagnostic. Both roles have included building client relationships and presenting to external audiences.

Working for a summer school for over 50 international students leading a small team and managing the organisation and execution of a full activity programme. I also had responsibility for groups of up to 15 students and in addition to this I ran classes and organised the students' airport arrivals and departures.

Spending a month in South Africa I got a hands on experience with reserve management. Some of the roles I performed included compiling data for white rhino research projects and behavioural observations on African Wild Dog. I was able to undergo this internship due to being the recipient of the full Girton College Travel Award and a Cambridge Bursary Scheme Award.

Working part time, in addition to the sale of pharmacy medication, I had responsibilities which included the cashing up of tills, locking up of the store and dealing with prescriptions. Furthermore I took part of a Health Care assistant course, as well as monthly pharmaceutical assessments.
