Main purpose of the IT Department was computerization of all operations of Municipality of Vranje, especially Local administration, local Assembly and Municipality Council. The Department’s main tasks were:-planning of procurement, procurement and supporting of information technologies for Municipality and budget beneficiaries-planning of procurement, procurement and supporting of communications equipment for Municipality and budget beneficiaries-projecting, building, supporting and administration of computer network of Municipality of Vranje-enabling internet access, building and supporting Web presentation of Municipality of VranjeIn addition to main goal, IT Department had been engaged in projecting, implementation, upgrading and/or supporting of communications and information systems of other budget beneficiaries, as well as third party’s systems, by contracts with Municipality.IT Department of Municipality had also been in charge of cooperation with state institutions, as well as other municipalities, with the main purpose of creating the “information society”.As a head of IT Department, I, independently, manage, organize and create strategies for the Department. I am managing all the employees, I provide necessary expertise for the executives, and I am involved in executing more complicated tasks; I am organizing and, if necessary, personally involved in regular support and upgrade of equipment and installations; I am in charged with cooperation with other members of Municipality Council, with the common goal of creating an integrated information’s system; I am preparing reports and analysis for the Head of the Municipality Council, for the Municipality President, Municipality Council, Municipality Assembly and it’s operational bodies; I am involved in Municipality procurement; I am cooperating with international humanitarian organizations and NGO’s in further improvement of information system.
