Ivan Taranenko – composer, pianist, teacher, public figure, graduate of the Kiev State Conservatory in the class of prof. G. Lyashenko (1991). In 1994 he became a member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine. Winner of the Award Mykola Lysenko (2011), Prizes named after Lev Revutsky (1999), Grand Prix of the 5th Charity Festival "Regina-Vladimir Horowitz in Memoriam" (Kiev 1998) and many others. Since 1999, he has been a lecturer at the composition department of the Ukrainian National Academy of Music. Participant of the Bouquet Kyiv Stage 2020 festivals, Kyiv Ethno Music Fest “Folk Virtuosos” 2019, Autumn Jazz Marathon (Kyiv), 21st International Music Festival in Ankara (Turkey 2004), the International Music Festival of Central and Eastern Europe “Eufonie” and many others. He is a scholarship holder of a creative scholarship funded by the Foundation of Friends of the "Warsaw Autumn" from the funds of "Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung" in Monaco for the commission of a piece for the International Festival of Electroacoustic Music "Musica Electronica Nova" (Wrocław, Poland, 2005).The composer's works have been performed in Poland, Turkey, Hungary, Great Britain, Germany, France, Israel, the USA, Canada and are constantly present in Ukraine. As a performer, he gives recitals during which he presents his own compositions, but he can also be heard at piano improvisation concerts. In 1996, he founded the jazz fusion band "Ivan Taranenko MUSCLUB", in which he performs as a composer and pianist.I. Taranenko is the author of many symphonic works, vocal-symphonic and symphonic-choral cantatas and oratorios, the ballet "Catherine's Flowers" and the stage opera "The Cherry Blossom on Athos" (libretto of both works by S. Maidanska), as well as choral, chamber and instrumental and electronic. He also works for fusion and jazz groups.In November 2022, as part of the 4th International Festival of Music of Central and Eastern Europe "Eufonie" at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Ivan Taranenko's project ''Fusionfonia_Music of the Ukrainian Land'' was performed as the final concert, in which the fusion band Ivan Taranenko MUSCLUB, a computer trio took part Tonus Finalis Ensemble composed of: Marcin Bortnowsky, Stanisław Krupowicz, Marcin Rupociński and the National Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Robert Kurdybacha. Last year 2023, he performed as a composer and pianist as part of the choral concerts of the Katowice Singers' Ensemble "Camerata Siles" under the direction of Anna Shostak.
