As the EMESRT Program Manager, my role is extremely diverse. From administrative tasks, to membership management, facilitating webinars, coordinating national and international workshops and developing marketing materials, including desktop publishing, generating illustrations and videos is also a part of my role. Due to EMESRT global community locations it is necessary to host webinars outside of business hours to accommodate different time zones. So my day could start at 6 am and finish at 10 pm. Managing this commitment and taking time out is critical to maintaining a healthy work-life balance.I have been extremely fortunate in my career and have worked with some passionate people, but none more so than the EMESRT Advisory Group. This small, non-for profit group, works tirelessly in a thankless environment and, more importantly, in a volunteer capacity as they all have their paid day jobs. Their passion is my motivation to inject as much as possible into EMESRT's vision and purpose.Vision: A mining industry free of fatalities, injuries, and occupational illnesses associated with operating and maintaining earth moving equipment.Purpose: Accelerate the development and adoption of leading practice designs to minimise the risk to health and safety through a process of original equipment manufacturer, contractor and user engagement.Engaging with people from all over the world is interesting and fascinating. Seeing the difference EMESRT has and is making to safety in the mining industry is a reward in itself.
