Improved 1221 genes in the bread wheat and 102 in the wild olive genome.• Created a tutorial for the heuristics with best practices for user decision-making.• Assembled a cassava transcriptome from Illumina RNA-Seq reads. Analysed the behaviour of the heuristics on transcriptome data.• Supervised an intern on development of a visualisation solution for a database. Designed, implemented and released it in 4 months.• Technical skills: Python, R, Bash, Git, Linux systems, HPC clusters• Communication skills: Wrote manuscripts for 2 first-author publications, co-authored one more. Presented results at 7 international meetings and conferences.
