I strongly believe in the use of math software to explore mathematical concepts. It is important to realise that excellent tools must be easy to use and students should not “learn to use it” but “use it to learn”. I have a special intrest for e-learning objects, the internet and e-learning environments. During the past years I have developed and adapted a lot of so-called applets. I have written several articles and created training courses for teachers on “how to use ICT and GeoGebra in the classroom”.I have founded a mailing list and a math teachers community for sharing materials and experiences on the use of ICT. I am an active member of the Flemish math teachers organisation.In 2004 I started a collaboration with MathforMore, a company from Barcelona, to create the Dutch version of a web-based computer algebra system named Wiris. I am involved in a lot of European projects (Cabri-cluster, World of curves, Scientix, Spice) and most recently the “Crop circle challenge”, the "partners in patterns" Comenius project. I am responsible for the translation of the Dutch version of Geogebra, an open source program that combines geometry and algebra. In 2006 I started to integrate interactive webtools for maths in Moodle, in order to share and publish didactical materials and to create online courses. At this moment I offer ONLINE e-learning courses for mathematics teachers on the use of GeoGebra in math lessons. http://nascholing.mathelo.netIn 2009 I became the chair of GeoGebra Institute of Flanders http://www.geogebra.beIn 2010 and 2011, I participated in the 'Spice and Scientix' projects from European Schoolnet.In the near future I will offer interactive (flipflap) e-books on mathematics, enriched with video and GeoGebra applets.
