As Marketing Manager I am responsible for developing content for donor specific events, including programs, invitations, collateral, and speaker remarks. I manage a portion of the Development Communications budget. In addition, in this role, I collaborate with the Department of Public Affairs in securing media coverage for Office of Development donor events. I am liaison for the university's Many Faces branding campaign and work directly with the Vice President of Marketing and Communication and Chief of Staff to the President, the Vice President of Development and Public Affairs, and Richards/Carlberg. My two biggest accomplishments at UTHealth have been the development and launch of the Office of Development's website and refreshed the online giving pages.

In 2015 I was given the opportunity to learn a part of marketing that usually makes people feel icky and gross. However, if you stop and think about it, sales are at the heart of what we do as marketers and we shouldn't be scared or embarrassed to say or admit that we are in the business of selling. In my mind the words sales and marketing are interchangeable and forever linked.One year as Director of Strategic Partnerships has given me a deeper respect for salespeople and definitely appreciate all the hard work and long hours it takes to have a successful career. During this time I’ve been able to apply a lot of the lessons I learned from my days as Director of Marketing and I have been able to develop new and improved sales tactics to help me achieve my quarterly goals.Zig Ziglar said, "You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great." Well, I've definitely started.

I also provided Spanish language interviews regarding museum programming to Latino media outlets.
