Leading over 100 subordinates within Finance, Accounting, planning, IT and Legal, my role as a CFO in this University located in Salvador, Bahia with over 20 thousand undergraduate and graduate students was to carry out a turnaround in the company´s strategy which resulted an increase of over 115% in the EBITDA from 2012 to 2014. This job allowed me to have a closer look into the retail market, not experienced before, aligning financial and marketing strategies.

I was involved in the planning of Global Chart of Account, including China, Singapore and other countries, upgrade of SAP and implementation of standard procedures.

Hired to be Iberdrola’s reporting manager for South America, one of biggest global players in the electricity power industry, based in Spain. I was also nominated statutory counselor to the investments of the group in Brazil (Coelba – Companhia de Eletricidade da Bahia, COSERN – Companhia de Eletricidade do Rio Grande do Norte, CELPE – Companhia de Eletricidade de Pernambuco and Neoenergia, holding company). I was responsible for adjusting the Financial statements prepared under Brazilian, Bolivian and Chilean GAAP to IFRS. Also,. I was responsible for monthly consolidated reporting of Iberdrola investments in South América. The position required direct contact both written and spoken in Spanih, as well as visits to Spain, Bolivia, Chile and the northeast of Brazil.

Hired to be the finance Manager of this Power Generation company, a subsidiary of the Singaporean group called Keppel, I enhanced my knowledge in the energy industry and also my internal control skills. My main accomplishments were: preparation and implementations of procedure manuals (in English and Portuguese), assist the internal auditors in visit to another group’s subsidiary in Nicaragua, specific internal control review in this same subsidiary in Nicaragua (all interviews conducted in Spanish), reporting (package) on a monthly basis to the head-office in English. Several visits to regulatory bodies in Brasilia regarding Industry information and company’s internal matters.

I joined Deloitte as a result of a merger with Andersen in Brazil. As a manager, I was in charge of several assignments in the following areas:•Utilities: auditing of financial statements of large and small energy companies (generation and distribution activities), review of packages for consolidation purposes;•GOs: Auditing of disbursements of funds from the World bank;•Manufacturing: auditing of financial statements of several manufacturing companies.
