Support the City Clerk with operations and goals of the City Clerk's Office. Provide leadership and direction over essential legislative, operational, and administrative services. Assist in developing, preparing, and monitoring of the division’s annual budget. Perform the duties of the City Clerk in their absence. Serve as acting director and signature authority for legislation and other official documents in the absence of the City Clerk. Support the municipal elections process by overseeing the initiative measure, charter amendment, and referenda processes which includes assisting in the development of time-sensitive, legal correspondence to petitioners, the Mayor’s Office, City Council, City Attorney’s Office and King County Elections.

Lead the department's customer experience journeys and provide equitable and efficient services. Represent the department state-wide on several workgroups and committees. Expert in civil protection orders, customer-focus programs, development and implementation of new digital services, and legislative changes impacting internal and external processes.

Use data and trends as foundation to make systems and leadership improvements. Provide professional development training and programs for the Pierce County District Court leadership team. Review administrative and organizational operations to develop high-performer teams. Develop and revise policies and procedures to make any needed improvements.

Direct and lead the day-to-day operations of the court. Represent the City and the Court in various state-wide committees. Meet guidelines set by Utah law and follow the Administrative Office of the Courts guidelines. Prepare and oversee the court's budget.

Communication professional for the Ryan White Program. Develop communication materials for Latinx communities. Identify gaps in HIV infections among people of Latinx heritage. Provide community classes about HIV infections and resources.

Conduct hearings of traffic and civil compliance. Act as the leader for Hearing Officers and provide coaching and training as necessary. Read and interpret city codes/laws and comply with them while adjudicating administrative citations issued by Salt Lake City. Work with the attorneys office and other agencies across the city to comply with customer demands and new legislative changes.

Enter minute entries and prepare court calendars. Assist customers via phone, email and at the counter. Assist with judicial officers with maintaining proper court records.

Provide programming that focuses on mentoring. Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions. Provide training to other counselors on how to deal with highly stressful situations. Act as a liaison between the courts, the juvenile detention and family members.
