Our lash fixing results are now superior to the competition, and we have developed a reputation for fixing lashes.Recovered initial capital and achieved profitability within 3 months of operation.

Firelit Studios applies data science and analytics to uncover profitable, underserved niches on the app store, and invests in them to build steady income streams.Wrote scripts (in PHP first, then Python) to mine data from various sites for analysis, allowing us to identify a profitable opportunity on the App Store.Learnt Objective-C and XCode in 3 weeks, then built and launched product with co-founder.Sales performance:* iTunes: ranked consistently in the Top 15 paid of US-Lifestyle for 1.5 years.* Google Play: ranked consistently in the Top 10 US-Lifestyle for 2 years.Profiled and fixed memory leaks and performance issues using Instruments.Designed and prepared app store screenshots for multiple resolutions.Wrote our own OpenType parser on Objective-C because Apple's CTFont API did not provide sufficient access to deeper OpenType features like complex ligatures and swashes.Used Flurry Analytics to monitor crashes and refine user experience and content.Competed in a start-up competition and won a trip to Silicon Valley to attend the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program at the Stanford Center for Professional Development.

Frozen Lizard Studios was a 4 person startup focused on developing social casual games. It lasted about 2.5 years. We decided to shut this company down due to the commercial failure of its products and the weak long term prospects for small studios in the industry.Acquired basic book keeping skills and handled our start-up finances.Increased team exposure and experience by finding economical ways to get them to conferences (Kre8tif, Casual Connect SG and Hamburg), and various training programmes (CGP mentorship, Unity3D Master Class, Online classes).Created and managed a Community of Professional Game Developers in Malaysia in an effort to expand our network. Grew the community to 400+ skilled members before transferring ownership to the Malaysian Game Developers Association in June 2015. They now use it as their main online community.Managed game production. The company successfully released 3 games on Kongregate, Facebook, and iOS.Made the decision to disband the team and cut everyone's losses due to commercially unsuccessful products, and weak future prospects.Supported team members and helped them transition into new jobs and stabilize their finances. Maintained strong relationships even after disbanding.Designed and coded a complete Facebook social web game (including the game editor) in Javascript / jQuery / PHP / MySQL.Coded the AI for our mobile action game in Unity3D / C#.Rapidly learnt Cg shader programming and the GPU rendering pipeline and wrote shaders to meet the technical requirements of our 3D artist, allowing him to achieve performance and size optimizations while maintaining visual quality.

Designed the achievement system that would make the learning process more interesting, and at the same time help to encourage positive behaviour (e.g. making better quality submissions, submitting on time, etc).Conducted introductory sessions on the Facebook Application, and also on Facebook Privacy for both the students and their mentors.

Established positive and healthy relationships with students and fellow staff members.Assessed the students’ current level of knowledge, identified the gaps in their understanding and adapted the classes accordingly so that they would be able to understand and apply the lessons learnt.Received positive feedback from the students on the quality of the classes.Provided mentorship and shared ideation tools and techniques for the students on their semester projects, one of which won the Highest Marketing Potential Award during the Taylor’s Engineering Fair 2010.

Senedi Labs is a company founded by ex-Intel employees that provides custom software development services. The company has since been acquired by the Tricor Group.Established good working relationships with client-side teams/business units.Balanced the workload of our project team members and freelancers between multiple projects to ensure that they are not under constant pressure, and that morale remained high.Successfully gathered requirements, formed a working team, and delivered customer requirements on time within a very short span of 5 weeks. (This project involved building a prototype application that would serve as a common front-end interface for 3 different back end systems – Siebel, Remedy, and an internally developed system).Successfully delivered a large project on time and to customer satisfaction despite strong political current and challenges with processes / red-tape on the client’s side.

I had a two very different responsibilities during this time. One was to continue managing a web project, and the other was a more technical role supporting Finance operations.Supported finance operations by meeting their reporting requirements using Teradata, SQL Server Integration/Analysis/Reporting Services, and Excel VBA.Managed the development of a backend store profile management tool for Intel retailers, and worked closely with a developer in Shanghai to make it happen.Successfully released the first version of this project within 6 working weeks (to make it in time for a marketing campaign).Developed a Geocoding tool in Visual Basic to allow the call centers to quickly geolocate the Intel resellers on GoogleMaps and compile the shop locations for database importing.

This was just above-and-beyond work because I really enjoyed it. It was not related to the official role I had at Intel.Helped to drive Innovation as a culture in Intel by conducting classes for fellow employees and by facilitating workshops in addition to my main responsibilities.Researched, experimented and expanded on existing training materials to improve the quality of the workshops. Developed several innovation related materials/exercises which was adopted in some of Intel’s training material for employees at that time.Received positive feedback on workshop quality, and was been invited to facilitate workshops in Malaysia(Penang), Singapore, China(Shanghai), and the US(Oregon).Trained approximately 370+ Intel employees during my time at Intel on various innovation topics and workshops.

Managed a team of 6 people to sustain Intel’s online distributor/reseller communications for the Asia Pacific region.This included the Intel Distributor Resource Centre websites (5 language versions), and the Intel Reseller Centre websites (4 language versions), and the Intel Technology Provider websites (2 language versions).Identified an opportunity to eliminate repetitive localization work. Worked with a team member to develop a simple tool to accelerate the newsletter development and localization process, halving development time and saving Intel USD$96.8K annually on vendor costs.Negotiated and arranged for a switch in translation vendors for the project, resulting in 32% reduction in annual translation costs.Maintained customer satisfaction and the smooth execution of the projects amidst resource challenges (multiple team member changes caused by the company wide headcount reduction exercises).

Worked with another 2 team members to maintain the Intel Distributor Resource Center websites (5 language versions) for the Asia Pacific region.Rapidly adapted to the new role with limited supervision and was up and running within a very short time. While Intel normally has a 'buddy' system for new hires, my circumstances were somewhat different because my buddy left for another division, and I was actually hired to take his role.
