Ivan Longhi took his degree in Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Milano in 2000 with the thesis Tools for monitoring a virtual communities. After his degree he start working on community networks, focused on technological aspects.Since 1999, he is the system and network administration of the Milan Community Network (www.retecivica.milano.it).In 2001-2003 he developed the technical infrastructure of Eventi in Lombardia (www.eventilombardia.it), a project to collect and spread all the events enrolled in the Lombardia region territory signaled from local governments, organizers and citizens, which has been developed in the framework of the project Development of services and technologies to turn local communities to account in the Information Society carried on by A.I.Re.C. (Association for Informatics and Community Networks - Lombardia) and funded by Lombardia Regional Government.Since 2001 he is the technical responsible of the project founded by the Province of Milan in collaboration with Milan Community Network Foundation for developing a portal for no-profit organizations (www.associazioni.milano.it).In 2003 he worked on the project Partecipate: Just do it! (www.partecipate.it), aimed at the development of information and communications technologies to support SMEs networks.Now he is the responsible of the development of JLI! - Just Learn It! (jli.dico.unimi.it), an open-source learning management system adopted at the Computer and Information Science Department of the Milan State University.He also collaborates in the FIRB – Webminds project, main focused on the integration and re usability of e-learning resources.
