I started my journey in Kinguin by finishing and deploying TEO Audience Insights, which is an e-gaming data mining app for marketers. After that, I was leading the development of some of Kinguin's great new products. While there, I went into new territories - Docker, Microservices, SOA architecture. My team and I developed several apps (under NDA), that got Kinguin on its track to a clear entry into the Fintech industry.
Senior Team Lead
As a team leader, my responsibilities included:- Leading the whole hiring process: Choosing candidates, scheduling interviews, salary negotiations and onboarding. - Training new hires: Assessing skill level, filling out knowledge gaps, utilizing talent and skills where they were most needed.- Keeping an eye on culture: Culture was always a top priority for me. It started off with looking for culture fitting traits in new candidates, and their seamless transition into the team. Following this approach allowed for a tight-knit team which supplemented each other's talents flawlessly.- Mentoring: While shaping culture inside the team, a key point was sharing the knowledge as fast as possible. This meant learning from our mistakes as fast as possible, so approaches and hiccups were identified, shared and ammended early on. I strived to instill transparency into each team member's talents and weaknesses, which led to a really supportive team, whose members taught and learned from each other.- Leading development: Starting with a discussion with the company's CTO, we translated business goals into an actionable plan and solution. I did an overall system architecture and set key milestones, a timeline, and identified possible bottlenecks. Having all this, we did a more thorough talk with the team, in order to gain additional perspective on the matter, and do changes early on. Once this was done, we assigned tasks while checking in with our skill inventory, and what everybody on the team was striving for. I usually laid the architecture groundwork and worked on the suspected pain points. We did daily standups to keep everybody on the same page, and one on one meetings to keep perspective on each team member's personal and professional goals.- Keeping an eye on improvements: A key function of mine was identifying ineffective or cumbersome systems and, after gathering feedback from colleagues, coming up with a solution. This led to overall company employee happiness.
Senior Web Developer
I started off with implementing a thorough dev workflow:- separate development, staging and production environments- Git version control, one-step deploys- Chose Phalcon as our backend framework of choice, since it allowed for complexity of the business milestones aheadI found a way to work seamlessly with a huge legacy codebase, without actually battling with it every day. After we assembled a team, we hit the ground running, as we already had a stable flow and best practices in place. For the whole period while I worked there, me and my team delivered multiple projects, including:- A WHMCS wrapper/support platform, which allowed for rapid development around a proprietary code base- A redesign & refactoring of the order form, which in the end turned out to become a SPA vue.js app communicating with an API- A custom CMS, which utilized a novelty approach, allowing for rapid development and integration of new features. It generated static pages while using a hierarchy of taxonomies. This made the whole platform robust, secure, and easy to extend. - A portal to replace the old client area. It took advantage of multiple APIs and allowed for seamless customer experience throughout all of TMD's services.

Senior Web Developer
As a jack of all trades, my duties were related to all stages of web development:- Frontend: UI, UX, Ajax driven interfaces,- Backend: Business model evaluation and integration, application architecture development, code optimization and documentation etc- System administration and tuning: With demanding apps running on small clusters, my job demanded hands-on knowledge of linux inner-workings.- Team: Working with such great people gave me confidence that even the most complicated issues can be solved while following a set of proven principles. My job included headhunting, coaching, and code quality testing. Some of the ex-junior developers on my team are currently project managers, or working for large international companies.
