Serves as a policy advisor and confidant in connection with the planning, administration, implementation, and evaluation of all programs and activities within the OIG. The Director of Public Safety plans, organizes, directs, and administers all public safety and campus security functions. Responsible for the administration, operation, strategic planning and financial oversight of a comprehensive full-service public safety department. The director interacts with a variety of university constituents as well as local, state and regional agencies to develop and implement comprehensive services and programs for the safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The Director represents the department in the local community and serves a central role in forging partnerships and engaging stakeholders in strategies and programs that add value to the collegiate experience and contribute to providing a safe and secure campus environment. The Director creates strong communication lines with both the academic and student affairs organizations and establishes strong relationships to provide programs and services critical to the safety and security of the faculty, students and staff.
