The purpose of The Uniquely Abled Project is to shift the societal paradigm from "disabled" to "uniquely abled." The UA Jobs program places uniquely abled folks in jobs where specialized training is not required, generally highly repititous tasks such as deburring, buffing, filing, scanning, and organizing. The UA Academy program identifies where the unique abilities of folks matches the needs of a high demand job. The first match we are implementing is qualifying folks with high functioning autism to be entry level CNC (computer numerical control) manufacturing machine operators. The Vision of EM is a world in which individuals on the autism spectrum are recognized for their talents and abilities and can achieve their full potential. The Mission of EM is to provide young adults on the Autism Spectrum with customized instruction and hands on experience to earn a living in the fields of multi-media, computer animation and post production.I am involved in EM because I believe we and the world would gain a lot if we would regard individuals from the view of their unique strengths, rather than their "disabilities".

I was on the CWC Board because I believe if we don't take care of our environment, including wildlife, we won't be taking care of ourselves either. The CWC is a non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates and releases sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife. We provide both expert medical care and community outreach and education. Since return to the wild is a primary objective, all care has to be provided with a minimum of human contact. CWC takes care of over 2,600 animals in need year.
