Professor Sanchez specializes in International Free Trade Agreements, Customs Law, Transnational Management, Logistics & Supply Chain, Warehouse Optimization and Business Administration at the Undergraduate level in both, Campus en Línea (online) and Campus Cumbres (on-site).He is two times recepient of Honorable Mention award for his outstanding performance in teaching at Campus en Linea (2008 and 2010).

I was the Customs & Logistics leader for all import and export operations to the USA, Canada, Europe and Central America in all transportation modes. I obtained all import permits needed from the Ministry of the Economy and the Treasury Department. Managed the Annex 24 system and launched the Foreign Trade Internal Audit Process aimed to ensure the compliance of Customs Laws. I developed and negotiated customs brokerage fees in Mexico and served as International Buyer of spare parts for one year and as Buyer of MRO for another year. Negotiated pricing and delivery terms with freight suppliers and during my last year I was in charge of the whole Procurement to Payment process for the international purchasing needs of Prolamsa. Last but not least, I was a key team member during the anti dumping investigation from the Department of Commerce that the company faced during 2008-2010. After a two months training at the HQ in Laredo, TX I was entitled to start-up the J.O. Ávarez Inc. new offices in Monterrey, Mexico where I served as Account Manager for some key customers, such as: Selther, PyHLM, Coca Cola, Avangard, and Topochico. I created and implemented the First Customer Satisfaction survey within the company to measure and improve our services. I managed the day-to-day operations of the office, including the procurement to pay processes, the operations side of it as well as the customs clearance processing by creating the Inward Cargo Manfest and Bill of Lading for customers entering goods into the United States (CBP forms 7501, 3461, etc.).

I coordinated the export operations to Central America and the United States that were shipped by sea and land. I was in charge of analyzing the profitability rates for the different transportation schemes and report to my Upper Management about alternative to improve reliability and performance. During my internship I was introduced to the supplier development and negotiation rounds that involved new supply chain suppliers that combined multimodal transportation. At the same time I audited transportation and customhouse broker´s fees to ensure the correct pricing was included, and provided my Manager with a monthly expenses report which was presented monthly to the area manager.

I served as key contact point between potential mexican exporters and importers in the United States. During my time as a Jr. Consultant I brought counseling and guidance to high-potential investors on the best ways to invest in Mexico and on the different requirements for importing and exporting across the US-México border. I also promoted the services offered by the Ministry of the Economy at the Mexican Embassy through participation on radio shows, internet groups and printed publications. I worked very hard on translating the most important customs & trade notices published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación (i.e. the Mexican Federal Register) that were published in the "NAFTA Works", the monthly publication of the Mexican Embassy distributed among the business community in Washington D.C.
