I am developing the Mosaic Open Analytics platform for CJC. This is a cloud based ITOA tool primarily focused on Market data services

Currently I am developing Plugins for the Geneos monitoring framework. This involves Java development integrating the XML RPC interface of Geneos with information exposed from the APIs of several products: Terracotta Universal MessagingVMWare VsphereCA Workload Automation AE (Autosys)Control-M/EM API Prior to this I have been heavily involved with the development of historical reports from the data recorded by the Geneos application. This involved developing an ETL process to extract the data from the Geneos real time database and convert it into a data warehouse. This was displayed using a VSTO add-in, in .NET 4.0 using C#, that allows the data to be extracted into Excel.

I am currently working with Extra technology delivering Geneos implementations for Investment banks. This includes developing bespoke plugins for in house and third party applications and also reporting tools.

I am the technical lead for the migration of a portion of the RBS business to Santander. This role involes developing a tool to load RBS trades into the SGBM front office system (Murex) and a series of reconcilliation tools

I am working for the Front office and Finance production support team. We are implementing a low latency monitoring system to measure the round trip latency of trade messages sent through various applications, the monitoring is done through the message tracker plugin in the Geneos active desktop. My role was to develop a suite of historical reports from the data recorded by the Geneos application. This involved developing an ETL process to extract the data from the Geneos real time database and convert it into a data warehouse. As this system is to be deployed to various support teams this development has involved a lot of server side scripting (Perl and Korn shell) to automate deployment and database maintenance tasks.

I was the team leader for the Santander Finance and Risk labs development team. This role involves leading 4 other developers working on various projects for the bank's Finance and Risk applications. This covers a series of technologies ranging from Trader built Excel Macros, C++ quant libraries, C# smart client applications and Oracle databases. Although a team lead I am still very much involved in development, and have most recently been developing a series of Risk tools used by the traders.My first year at Santander was spent building an application to report monthly GL positions to the Head office in Madrid. This involved mapping the AFM Chart of accounts to the Santander Cargabal Chart of accounts. Over the last year I have been upgrading this application to support the new challenges presented by changes in reporting regulations and the banks structure.

I was the architect of Global Mobility's secure, personalized website myEYOnline. Incorporating both front office and back office functions, this is hosted in a high security web hosting environment. This application is built in C#, ASP.NET using an Oracle database supporting over 40,000 external and internal users. As the development is spread across two teams one in the UK split between Bristol and London and the other in the US we make extensive use of continuous build and test driven development to ensure the quality and stability of the code. We use Subversion as a source control tool; Draco.NET is used to integrate with NAnt, NUnit, NDoc and FXcop to continuously build and then automatically perform Unit tests, monitor the quality of the code and create online documentation

October 2004-July 2005 EMII was the architect of the administration tool for the BI system. This tool, developed in C#, ASP.NET and using SQL server 2000 gives the administrators access to the data loaded into the Data Warehouse, allowing them to monitor and control the ETL process. The information is displayed using HTML/DHTML generated from XML data sources using XSLT, JavaScript is used to reduce the number of postbacks and enrich the user experience. June 2004 - October 2004 MondialDesigning the architecture of C# call centre application, Mondial are replacing their existing Sybase based call centre application with an application based on C#, Oracle and COM+. I helped design a framework that is the basis for this development.

2003-June 2004I was responsible for the support and maintenance of the Fixed Income Quantitative risk system. I was instrumental in expansion of the system to support the management of an increasing number of bonds and various derivative instruments including Futures, options and Interest rate swaps. As part of this role I also supported both Traders and Portfolio Managers in their use of external data providers such as Bloomberg and Reuters and its integration to Excel. 2002-2003I was the architect for an Equity Quant system used for Multi-manager Portfolios. This application was built in Oracle 9i and C# .Net using COM+. It was designed to build financial models based on the historical performance of equity funds; it uses Excel as a graphing/reporting tool. 2001-2002I spent my first year designing and developing an application to automate program trading. It used the Bloomberg API to provide real-time pricing and analytic data to display the value of the basket of trades. It used Tibco messaging to integrate with the trading system to place the trades and identify when they had been executed automatically.

I was heavily involved with Future publishing's aim to move their websites to a flexible architecture that would form the platform for all Future's web sites. In this role I made use of Java Script, XML, ASP, ADO and SQL server 2000. The analysis and design of this object-oriented system was done using UML.Australian Tax Office (ATO

My task was the design and development of an administration system that allowed the input of various personnel, job and company data which was required to support a new implementation of BP's SUN accountancy system. I designed the system using UML, the business objects were developed in Visual Basic to run as COM objects in an MTS environment using IIS. These objects accessed a SQL server database. The three-tier architecture allowed the same business logic to be used by both a web interface and a VB client. Due to the limitations of Visual Basic 5 some components had to be rewritten in C++ to take advantage of its threading model.

Over the two years I was at CMG I was involved in various projects, usually concurrently. On the last project I was an integral part of the design team for 'rFrame'. Over 100 Investment banks including Kleinwort Benson, Barings and ABN Amro use this CMG's regulatory reporting framework. This product was a legacy COBOL system; the front end was redesigned as ActiveX components in Visual Basic. The legacy code was wrapped as COM components using MicroFocus NetExpress. This architecture, like most of the projects I was involved in at CMG, was designed with UML using Rational Rose. I was the technical lead on the design, build and deployment of a Contact Management database for a building society. This was built in Visual Basic and Oracle 7. Oracle replication was used to combine the benefits of mobile working with a central repository for management information. The system was integrated with various other desktop applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Schedule +.
