Besides major tasks performed in the library, such as acquisition, cataloguing and classification, storage and retrieval, Central Geophysical Library provide diverse services:• Circulation service• Recommendation of library material • Assistance in finding information and literature from the field of physics of the atmosphere, the sea and the Earth's interior• Inter-library loan service• Institutional repository archiving and administration• Bibliometric analysis and research assessment service (different kinds of bibliometric reports for scientists and institution)• Information literacy instructions (e.g. how to cite literature, how to retrieve information from scientific databases, how to access scientific papers, how to use library catalogue)Library strives to support the scientific and teaching activities of the Department through additional services:- The library participates in the editorial board of the scientific journal Geofizika - As part of the compulsory course "Introduction to Scientific Research and Communication" on II. year of graduate study Library participates in the module "Scientific databases and their use" through lectures, seminars (1. Scientific databases and 2. Relevance of the journal - bibliometrics: application to geophysics) and exercises (Searching scientific databases)- The library has the experience and knowledge to collect and retrieve historical archival data used for research in the field of geophysics (helping to collect historical macroseismic or oceanographic data in the various archival and library documents)- Participation in the organization of professional conferences, popularization and cultural events (e.g. Meeting and exhibition "ZG 22.3.2020: from magnitude to intensity", on the second anniversary of the Zagreb 2020 earthquake)- The library is involved in the care of scientific heritage related to the great Croatian scientist Andrija Mohorovičić
