About Iveli De Paula

I've got a love story with civil engineering that's been building up for years.It all began back when I was a teenager, and I found myself at a technical high school, proudly maintained by UNICAMP—one of Latin America's finest universities. I wasn't just taking regular high school classes; I was diving into Geomatics, discovering Surveying, Remote Sensing, and GIS. Those early days were when I first laid hands on AutoCAD and ArcGIS, and I knew this was the path I wanted to follow.Why civil engineering, you ask? Well, it's the field that covers everything under the sun. Bridges, roads, buildings, water systems, transportation, geotechnics, surveying — you name it, and civil engineers can make magic happen.My journey hit another high when I earned a scholarship, thanks to the Fullbright Program and the Brazilian federal government. Off to the USA, I went, spending two memorable semesters at CU Denver in the beautiful city of Denver, Colorado. Later, I even found myself knee-deep in a research project on concrete under fire conditions at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.Somewhere along the way, I took a detour into the world of tech. Joining a social startup, I ventured into coding for data analysis. I vividly recall those days of wrangling massive datasets with Pandas (Python), transforming Excel-based mayhem into streamlined reports. It was there that I discovered my love for the dynamic tech industry.But a piece of my heart always remained in civil engineering, calling me back. The industry held immense potential, yet it felt somewhat stuck in the past. Fortunately, winds of change were blowing, and the digital transformation was taking hold.That's when I made a pivotal choice—to pursue a Master's Degree in Computing for Civil Engineering at TU Berlin. Here, I'm immersed in learning not just about German Building Norms and Codes but also the thrilling world of computing for civil engineering. I've already dabbled in Java to solve complex construction scheduling challenges, and now, I'm eagerly diving into C# to craft new plugins for Revit.So, here I am, ready to bridge the worlds of technology and civil engineering, striving for innovation and change. Let's connect, share experiences, and explore this exciting journey together! 🏗️🚀
