Ivelisse Torres has over 30 years of healthcare management experience involving all components of the provider community in Puerto Rico, including the physician, hospital, outpatient and managed care segments. She holds a master’s degree in Nursing and an MBA from the University of Puerto Rico.Ivelisse began her career as the Director of Nursing of a major medical center in Manatí, Puerto Rico. In 1990, she developed one of the first successful private cardiovascular surgery program in Puerto Rico and oversaw operations for 10 years. In 2001, she became the Executive Director of the Pavía Hato Rey Hospital and managed the turn-around of a failing facility, quickly creating a financially sustainable and high-quality institution.In 2009, she joined Leprechaun LLC, a medical information technology company. As General Manager, Ivelisse led the development of a home visit program in the island aimed at assuring correct reimbursement for medical advantage plans in Puerto Rico.In 2012, Ivelisse founded and became Chief Executive Officer of Sapphire Care Management LLC, a medical management company contracting with Medicare Advantage plans to provide clinical care and reimbursement documentation through the home visit model.
