After 43 years in the Engineering industry working basically for the same company, all from Northern California, I recently retired. I had the privilege to start my career with a small firm (Winzler & Kelly) headquartered in a small community (Eureka, CA). Ultimately I led the firm as CEO and grew it to a modest sized business that was recognized as a leading US engineering company. In 2011 the company was acquired by GHD a global company based in Australia, where I remained as an employee. With GHD I had the opportunity to lead the US business as President and serve on the Board of Directors. This journey engaged me on many exciting engineering infrastructure related projects throughout the US and also led to travel around the globe representing GHD’s employees and shareholders. I retired from GHD in January of 2022.Currently I am the President of the GHD Foundation in the US and Canada. The GHD Foundation promotes STEAM education for under-represented people in the engineering/environmental fields and also assists communities in reestablishing infrastructure in response to natural disasters. Closer to home I am serving on the Humboldt County Planning Commission.
