I investigated how our germline genetics (genes we are born with) can influence the different genetic damages or mutations that we would accumulate if we were to develop bowel cancer. My research contributed to our understanding of the genetic basis of this disease. This work was primarily computational and bioinformatics based. It involved handling of large genetic datasets and the development of bespoke statistical analysis using various software.

Companion animal general practice with emphasis on rabbit and small rodent medicine & surgery and small animal dentistry. Responsibilities included consulting, routine surgery, general in-patient care, handling of emergencies, medical record keeping and communication of test results. Additionally, I helped reduce financial losses from out-of-date stock by implementing and overseeing pharmacy stocking targets and I developed antibiotic use protocols and client information materials for the practice.

Small animal first opinion practice. I completed routine surgical and consulting work as well as emergency out of hours care. I was appointed sole charge responsibility for branch practice after one year and gained my OCQ(V)-CA certigication in 2015 which enabled me to issue passports and export documentation as the appointed Official Veterinarian (OV). I also enjoyed mentoring intern students completing their professional development phase.
