Ive Velikova Email and Phone Number
I’m Ive Velikova (she/elle/тя), a queer science communicator based in Tiohtià:ke (Montreal), on the traditional unceded territory of the Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk). I am a science communicator, climate storyteller, and digital media producer. Equipped with my Master in Science Communication, I use enthusiastic storytelling to build trust in science and mobilize communities to take action on climate change. I work with scientists to make their research friendly, accessible, and inclusive to broader audiences.I always take an audience-first approach to sharing complex topics in clear and entertaining ways. I am a frequently requested Keynote Speaker who loves engaging folks with anything science, anywhere & everywhere. I’ve built a human-powered piano on the streets of Toronto, talked medical jargon in a California desert, and shared the impact of dancing on the brain at a local drag show.During the COVID-19 pandemic, I combatted vaccine misinformation by crafting social media posts that reached 13M Canadians with Science Up First.I also host Science Sucks, a podcast where scientists share the ups and downs of research and how it impacts our lives. When I’m not gushing about science, you can find me hiking, birding, or planning my next adventure.
