My research interests reside in empirical corporate finance, particularly corporate governance and executive compensation. I have two goals. One is to better understand the subtle but important effects of various governance mechanisms and contract designs on managers and firms within the standard agency framework. The other is to identify and estimate the role of managerial attributes and non-standard preferences in determining organization structure, policy, and performance.As for teaching, I have taught all levels of courses at Ivey (UWO), Arizona State University and the University of Missouri. I have taught courses on fundamentals of finance, corporate finance, financial theory and econometrics at the Ph.D., Masters (MBA and MFE), and undergraduate levels. I am also interested in teaching courses in investment, international finance, and financial markets. My work experience covers these areas.
