Strengthened the internal capacity and systems of the organization.Managed the organization’s financial operations, including oversight of accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, production of financial statements and reports, and advisement of the senior management team on financial decisions. Monitored and maintained the internal controls, while overseeing financial systems and related compliance requirements. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Finance Director will:• Directed the day-to-day accounting operations including oversight of accounts payable andreceivable, and maintenance of the general ledger• Prepared, analyzed and presented internal and external financial reports (income statements and balance sheets) in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicated monthly and annual financialstatements to senior management• Led the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the board and senior management; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changesand produced monthly budget versus actual reports• Managed organizational cash flow and forecasting• Oversaw audit and tax functions, coordinated activities with outside audit/accountingfirms and reviewed firms’ performance• Produced financial reports for the organisation and other funder grants; maintained shared grantreporting calendar due dates and submissions, including all required financialdeliverables as stated per grant awards and contracts• Updated and implemented all necessary business policies and accounting practices;periodically updated the organization’s accounting manual• Remained up-to-date on best practices in NGO finance, business systems and internalcontrol measures, and state and national law regarding NGO operations
