Ivor Ruste retired effective April 30, 2018 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Cenovus Energy Inc. Cenovus is one of Canada’s largest integrated oil companies listed on the New York and Toronto stock exchanges with an enterprise value of $30 billion. As CFO at Cenovus, Ivor led over C$25 billion in acquisition and divestiture transactions, undertook approximately C$15 billion of capital markets financing in the equity and bond markets with investment grade credit ratings, and maintained a multi-billion syndicated credit facility. He was also responsible for supply chain management, capital allocation and strategic planning for portions of his career.During the period from May 2006 to November 2009, Ivor worked at EnCana Corporation. Prior to the creation of Cenovus, which was split off from EnCana, Ivor was Executive Vice President, Corporate Responsibility & Chief Risk Officer at EnCana. From 1998 to 2006, he was the Managing Partner of the Edmonton office of KPMG LLP. He also served as the Alberta Regional Managing Partner and Vice Chair of the KPMG Canada Board of Directors. Ivor has been active in numerous other business, community, and professional endeavors, including 10 years serving as a board member and Audit Committee Chair for Stantec Inc., a public company listed on the TSX and NYSE, as well as 6 years as Governor for the Board of the University of Alberta and 3 years on the Board of Governors for the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers. Ivor has a Bachelor of Commerce with distinction from the University of Alberta and was named a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant in 2006. He is also a graduate of the ICD-Rotman Directors Education program and earned the ICD.D designation.
