Typically it operates at temperatures above 500 degrees and at very low pressure rates, that are close to vacuum. I worked in a team deviating from 2 to 7 persons, in which we have developed a new microservices-based software system communicating with different PLC’s, different kind of scanners, a factory MES system and GUI’s for operating the oven. For all those endpoints, we have created individual services that communicate via a message queue, implemented with Kafka.Users of the GUI can typically switch between different operation modes and recipes, which is a huge collection of temperature setpoints, pressure setpoints and more. Next to this, there are manual modes, in which individual gates, valves, mass flow controllers, conveyor belts, etc. can be controlled. The communication with the central MES system is done via SECS/GEM, which allows the factory to gather a lot of data about how the condition in which individual panels are produced. Next to that, the MES system can also give comments to the oven, like running another recipe.Together with the PLC team, the international services team of STS and the customer, we tested the oven and it’s communication until we conformed to the agreed standards, related to the conditions of the panels leaving the oven and the data that is communicated with the MES system. Next to that, I have also worked a couple of months on some other projects for Smit, which involved updating existing GUI’s and adding MES communication over SECS/GEM to existing GUI’s.Most important used technologies:C#, WPF, Caliburn Micro, Kafka, IOC, Castle, Unit Tests, Nunit, PostGreSQL, Peergroup EIB, SECS / GEM, OPC, OpcDaNet, VMWare, Hyper-V, Team City, ScrumWise Show less

Big Projects that I have worked on:- The WBA ProjectThis has allowed us to connect new customers to the new fiber network of KPN. Customers connected to this network can use KPN television and in some cases the network is faster.- The Network Upgrade ProjectThis has allowed us to upgrade current customers connected to the older fiber networks of KPN / Reggefiber to switch to the new KPN Network. This will help phasing out some old networks and switches and gives the customer access to KPN television and sometimes higher internet speeds.- The Relocation ProjectThis has allowed us to support relocations of customers in such a way that they will be connection to the new fiber network of KPN at their new address.- The Number Porting ProjectThis has automated the biggest parts of the number porting project that deals with taking over phone numbers from other provides and vice versa. Most important used technologies:C#.NET, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Cordys Business Process Management Show less

Data types represent: employees, customers, locations, projects, orders, products, stock, etc. Depending on the data type, the data is shared across multiple systems of Vanderlande and some of its partners. The message queues are mostly used by a set of Windows Services distributing data to specific systems, Windows Services receiving data and typically forwarding it to the API of specific systems, and Webservices (hosted via ServiceStack in a Windows Service) receiving data from specific systems. Most important used technologies:C#.NET, MSMQ, XSLT, ServiceStackDeveloping a system, called TimeEntryBox (TEB), which employees use for time writing. TEB uses various master data input, defining which employees use the system and on which projects they can write time. TEB provides it's own masterdata to other systems, called timesheets, describing who-did-what-when. Timesheets are distributed to other systems for purposes like calculating project costs, sending bills to clients and paying contractors. Employees use TEB in a weekly base and enter the hours on which projects they worked, delegate other users to write their hours, register when they take their holiday, etc. The heart of the application is a RESTful webservice communicating about employees, projects, timesheets, etc. The main data entry is done via a web application, which is build with Saltarelle (generates JavaScript from C#) and KnockOutJS. A secondary entry used by administrators is a Windows Form, which is used to reject timesheets, change delegation, set financial year details, etc. Furthermore there are several related Windows Services for routing master data messages and generating weekly reports. Most important used technologies:C#.NET, LINQ, SQL Server, Windows Services, ServiceStack, Saltarelle, KnockoutJS, AJAX, GIT Show less
