I look for challenging writing-focused roles that demand constant learning and adaptability. Before I began my writing career, I was trained in discourse analysis at college, which deeply impressed upon me the inextricable connections between the integrity of the speaker, the consideration of audience context, and the essential message itself. For me, the most effective approach is a flexible style and vocabulary that always keeps the user/viewer in sharp focus. During my academic and professional years, I developed a complementary practice in visual art and design - Adobe Creative Suite as well as Autodesk animation software. After all, the medium is the message (or the massage, if you follow Marshall McLuhan) - a newsletter, web site, interactive medium or video. All of these are tools that I consider essential for engagement and retention. As a content manager and blogger, I have gained the utmost respect for the power of analytics. I can be a bit compulsive about leveraging data on engagement and optimizing performance. Drawing people in is a tricky business, one where you can flirt all too closely with clickbait-style headlines - ideally one maintains credibility by balancing optimized titles and a voice of integrity.Working with a diverse clientele has given me the opportunity to cultivate communication skills that are adaptable and collaborative.
