Responsibilities include:• Manage logistics for all Communications Department and Chairman’s Office events, approximately 40 events per year, including the annual Creativity Conference, a half day conference in Washington, DC.• Research appropriate guest lists for each event and process RSVPs.• Draft and distribute event briefing memos to all speakers, and lead briefing meetings with Senator Chris Dodd (Chairman and CEO, MPAA).• Secure event staffing, manage budget, and handle billing for all event-related expenses.• Book travel, hotel and ground transportation for speakers.• Create and execute new events and programs that assist in developing the Association’s brand and public image.• Develop and maintain relationships with third party groups for appropriate event partnerships.• Coordinate Association’s external program sponsorships, such as TED Long Beach and South by Southwest.• Lead weekly events meeting, and handle and track Association’s internal speaker’s bureau requests.Event highlights:• Coordinated 16 stakeholder groups to plan and execute the first annual Beyond the Red Carpet: Movie & TV Magic Day on Capitol Hill, an event with 13 booths plus stage program, attended by 400+ guests including 30 Members of Congress.• Designed and executed a lounge at 2014 South by Southwest to highlight TheCredits.org, MPAA’s online content magazine.

Director responsibilities included:•Oversaw and managed a team of twelve Publicists and Coordinators.•Developed and maintained relationships with over twenty film studio clients, as well as local and national press.•Handled the hiring and annual evaluations of all employees.Publicity/Promotions responsibilities included:•Created and executed local event and marketing campaigns for theatrical film releases in Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, Norfolk, VA and Richmond, VA for clients, including Twentieth Century Fox, Fox Searchlight Pictures, Paramount Pictures and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.•Pitched and secured media coverage for events, such as the NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: BATTLE OF THE SMITHSONIAN World Premiere and THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES Washington, DC Premiere.•Identified, secured and liaised with various vendors to ensure successful event management from inception to execution including, but not limited to: hotels and venues, audio/visual and lighting production, and transportation.•Researched and invited appropriate VIP and tastemaker guests to movie screenings.•Secured regional publicity for clients’ films in all forms of traditional and new media (print, television, radio, online) including film reviews and features. This included screening films for reviewing press; pitching interviews and angles to the press; and organizing and executing all aspects of personal appearance tours/regional press days for actors, filmmakers, and other talent.
