My areas of expertise are the management of risk and governance in the minerals sector, from an operational perspective and in the ESG (environmental, social and governance) perspective. My opinions are my own, and do not reflect any organisations I work for or am associated with. I provide guidance in the review of risk disclosure in public statements by listed and unlisted mineral and energy companies, and reviewing transactional documents for new company floats, mergers, takeovers and schemes of arrangements. I was ASIC's* national adviser on Minerals and Energy for the past 6 years.I have worked primarily with small to mid-cap companies in the mining industry, in open pit and underground mines in Western Australia, and China; and been a consultant mining and resource geologist, reviewing a wide range of projects in Australia and overseas, and in a variety of commodities. I also have an understanding of risks asociated with power generation and supply in remote areas, and the application of alternate energy sources. I was named in the biennial 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining in NOvember 2020, and a finalist in the Outstanding Woman in Resources category, by the Chamber of Minerals and Energy Western Australian in March 2020. * ASIC is the Australian federal government corporate regulator, the equivalent to the SEC in the United States, or the FCA (previously FSA) in the United Kingdom.
