Ivy Secrest is the current content managing editor at the Rocky Mountain Collegian, as well as a web publishing assistant for IT at Colorado State University. She was born and raised in Denver Colorado and is earning her degree in Journalism and Media Communications with a minor in Global Environmental Sustainability at Colorado State University.She aims to be a multimedia creator and reporter who focuses in environmental and social issues as well as international reporting. Her favorite story she's ever had the opportunity to work on was the story of an organic farm in the Le Marche Region of Italy. She's reported on local and international issues from both a university campus, a local publication and in a study abroad program. She is incredibly passionate about science communications and localizing issues through under represented communities.In her free time is passionate about getting out in nature, hiking above alpine, skiing and spending time with her family and friends. She loves cooking and learning how food evolves in unique climates and cultures. She's been known to take on a third or fourth part time job in order to travel and adores learning about new things.
