Ivy V. Email and Phone Number
I am a community-engaged researcher and program evaluator with more than 7 years experience helping organizations understand and address the needs of the communities they serve. My research interests include maternal and child health, injury and violence prevention, and global health. My path to public health and evaluation was not straightforward. After completing medical school in the Philippines, I realized I needed to do more to prevent people from getting sick or injured in the first place.I pursued further studies at University of New Mexico (UNM) and received my Master of Public Health in 2017. While working at the UNM Prevention Research Center, I contributed to the design, implementation, and evaluation of community-based research and evaluation projects. I worked with domestic violence and sexual violence agencies, and collaborated with early childhood coalitions to prevent injury and violence from affecting New Mexico families and children. In my current role, I work with veteran serving organizations to evaluate community-based programs to prevent suicide among our veterans. I am based in Albuquerque, New Mexico and work remotely as Technical Advisor with CDC Foundation’s Non-Infectious Disease Department.
