The National Guild’s 83rd Annual Conference for Community Arts Education, that was to take place in New York City from November 18th-November 21st, 2020, was canceled due to the pandemic. While plans for the Conference included host venues across community sites throughout the metro area, to center the organizations, artists, neighborhoods, and spaces that make the NYC creative ecology uniquely vibrant, all programming plans shifted online to support community arts organizations in their… Show more The National Guild’s 83rd Annual Conference for Community Arts Education, that was to take place in New York City from November 18th-November 21st, 2020, was canceled due to the pandemic. While plans for the Conference included host venues across community sites throughout the metro area, to center the organizations, artists, neighborhoods, and spaces that make the NYC creative ecology uniquely vibrant, all programming plans shifted online to support community arts organizations in their responses to the pandemic. Throughout the unanticipated pandemic period, all programs were designed for national audiences that included formats from open community conversations- an ongoing space for arts education colleagues to problem-solve together- to cohort learning and various, open curated speaker series on topics ranging from antiracism to fostering K-12 partnerships and from best practices for online learning to creative aging programming.
