Managing the planning and delivery of KS5 English Language and English Literature

Head of a large team of English and EAL specialists. Oversight of planning and delivery of KS3, 4 and 5, including Language and Literature.I was described by the Deputy Head Academic as being "transformative" in the role.

Head of English (Key Stage 3-5), with responsibility for whole school literacy.I have planned for and overseen the transition to the new 9-1 graded GCSE system, while managing the legacy specification for the school's first ever Year 11, creating targeted intervention groups and overseeing staff training to maximise results.In the light of the GCSE changes, I have revised KS3 assessment methods, making the most of the changes coinciding with "life without levels".For both 2016-17 and 2017-18, the Eng Dept gained four times the national average of grade 9s, and managed above average percentages of grades 8-6, as well as being praised by Ofsted for the strength of teaching and learning across the department.

Teacher of English Language and Literature from Key Stage 3 to 5.Sixth Form tutor, with responsibility for managing UCAS process, other apprenticeship and careers advice, academic mentoring, and pastoral welfare of tutor group. Teacher of Critical Thinking to AS Level.Teacher of A Level Philosophy (old and new specification).I also planned and delivered a number of sessions designed to ensure the social welfare of the students.

Head of Year 7, overseeing a pastoral team, managing students' transition from Primary, analysing behavioural and academic data, and planning and managing interventions.

Responsibility for managing the behaviour and the pastoral welfare of a year group, liaising with many outside agencies.
