Senior Embedded Software EngineerEmcore Corporation Jul 2018 - Jul 2020Concord, CaliforniaAt Emcore (formerly Systron Donner Inertial), I worked on two primary projects:I helped complete DO-254 verification and transition-to-production activities for an FPGA-based IMU for the Boeing 777X. I performed hardware testing, performed VHDL and filter analyses, and led the final stage-of-involvement audit.I ported an embedded realtime processing application to a TI TMS320F28335 processor and wrote a custom firmware bootloader plus a .NET application for production configuration for a family of IMUs.Aside from these two major projects, I worked with existing firmware code and solved several software issues via a variety of hardware and software debugging techniques. I also supported verification and documentation for production firmware releases. -

I have contributed to discussions regarding signal processing methods and experiment design, and I have implemented the techniques resulting from these discussions in the form of Android applications for testing the control interfaces with able-bodied and disabled subjects.Because of the recency of the technical innovation involving the use of smartphone and tablet hardware to record EMG, standard hardware interfaces do not exist. Early in my position in RASCAL, I designed custom printed circuit boards to make powering the EMG amplifiers and connecting them to the mobile devices simpler.My time in this lab has allowed me to advance my skills with electronics, software development, embedded development, signal processing, and machine learning. I have also gained experience with human subject testing and an interest in neuroscience. -

I also was able to help develop a computational framework for learning mechanical vibrations via Python, create homework assignments, and administer a JupyterHub server for students to use.For a Measurement Systems course (EME 107B, Fall 2012), I supervised laboratory sessions involving the use of electronic circuits to measure mechanical phenomena and graded lab reports. -
