Executed on many aspects of AIG’s “Vision 2020” strategy of technology modernization,TCO reduction and application rationalization.AWS and HANA Migration – Successfully migrated SAP systems to HANA DB on AWS cloud. The project migrated 13 landscape in 13 months and was self-funded due to savings realized by retiring DB2 licenses costs, utilizing the on demand pay and use model, eliminating DR hardware and HA software. Server consolidation/Platform retooling: Consolidated servers/applications by performing application rationalization and migration from legacy Solaris and Windows OS to Linux to reduce TCO and provide a more stable and scalable platform.Process Reengineering/optimization: Thought leader for automated platform deployment using Terraform/python with embedded CHEF scripts. Vendor negotiation: Executed multiple fixed bid project with various vendors for turnkey solutions and maintenance: Business transformation: Optimized the existing support structure by setting up a team in Manila to flex to project and BAU needs. Enabled AWS cloud adoption across the company. Eliminated mandatory annual DR testing by implementing operational DR when production system is flipped between AWS East and West regions annually.KPI’s: • First in the industry to migrate a production SAP ECC workload in AWS cloud.• Reduced onshore resource demand from 20+ to 6 personal by standing up an offshore team, redistributing workload and increasing automation.• Achieved 2 million+ in cost savings due to server/application consolidation, optimizing AWS resources and migrating historical data to cheaper S3 storage. • Reduced server deployment time from about one to three months to couple of days.• Migrated a scale out 5TB BW HANA system to AWS thereby eliminating AMS maintenance contract of 30+ HANA appliances.
