The FutureSkills Research Lab is a University of Toronto initiative that brings together academic researchers and partner organizations to assess how training, education, and public policies should respond to the changing nature of work in an era marked by disruptive technologies.

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic and restriction, I will be virtually interning for thr HDRO this summer at the comfort of my home in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Super excited and eager to learn more about Human Development.

Research: Gender Equality in Public Administration (GEPA)

Research: Gender Equality in Public Administration (Pitt-UNDP Collaborative project)

-Collect and compile information relating to COVID-19 responses by 1) national governments; 2) local governments; and 3) the private sector designed to address gendered impact of the crisis, and develop presentation materials;-Support the organisation of the scheduled online events organized by the Bangkok Regional Hub Gender Team, including the development of communication materials;-Support the work of the Bangkok Regional Hub Gender Team, in particular the team’s collaboration with different regional teams;-Map ongoing and /or planned gender equality initiatives at the regional and national levels associated with service delivery and public administration.-Search and update available country-level sex-disaggregated data in Public administration and decision-making Public Administration, building on previous GEPA research conducted in the region, including for input into GEPA 2020 report. - Support the analysis of national and regional trends in data and tracking systems for the 2020 Report.- Create country specific summaries (South Korea, Myanmar and Phililippines) on the structure and scope of PA, and record national priorities on gender equality in public administration, as they may exist- Identify potential national and regional actors and agencies for future collaboration on gender equality in public administration.- Focus on countries in the region selected for special attention in the 2020 report.

• Participated in a fully funded 6-week research fellowship• Co-conducted a research focused on analyzing the prospect of Cambodia future economic development• Project title: “Cambodia: A stunting road to tiger cub economy in the region”

• Developed training workshops and programs related to leadership development for the Southeast Asian youth exchange participants• Worked with Administrative Program Director and various overseas U.S embassies to coordinate participants’ travel to and departure from the program• Coordinated the operation of the program by managing program logistics such room reservation, supplies coordination, program schedule organization, and staff and speaker’s communication

Minneapolis Fire Department:• Supervise five high school Step-Up Interns including making work plans, job coaching and day to day assistance of work• Implement the Fire Department’s community Little Free Library Project• Develop curriculum for Fire Department’s EMS Academy and job pathways programs• Engage in departmental policy-making process through attending city-related policy meetings, research policies and analyzing policies.

• Works to promote the community within the floor• Help to encourage the residents to understand the five learning outcomes of Residential Curriculum• Regularly organize programs to integrate the five learning outcomes to residents’ knowledge• Manage crisis that can happen in the residence hall on daily basis• Respond to duty on weekly basis by doing round of the building

• Assisted in the administrative tasks such as preparing keys/cards for camps and conferences, building preparation, providing proper paperwork for camps and conference guests• Acted as a spokesperson of the university during the session of camps, conferences and orientations through act as a resource/referral agent and willingly provide accurate information to individuals within the Residence Halls• Performed any duties set by and for Residence Hall Complex Coordinator, Hall Directors, Chief Clerk, and Desk Operations Graduate Assistants• Maintained guest relations by providing assistance in the emergency situations and, resolving conflicts and inappropriate behaviors

• Helped create a welcoming environment for prospective students and families touring the residence halls• Collaborated with Residential Communities, Dining and Building Services staff to prepare Admissions and Housing & Dining events• Created and implemented volunteer recruitment plans• Worked with the tour coordinators to maintain communication with hall volunteers
