I developed a fascination for the power of data to solve challenging problems, igniting this passion when I embarked on my Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering at North Carolina State University, specializing in Machine Learning and Computer Vision.As a Machine Learning Researcher at the Active Robotics Sensing Lab, I developed a deep learning model to classify audio as speech or cough and detect out-of-distribution samples, improving the baseline accuracy by 7%. I also submitted the Publication: “Robust Multimodal Cough and Speech Detection using Wearables: A Preliminary Analysis” to IEEE - EMBC in February 2024, maintaining high accuracy with OOD data.As a Data Science Research Intern at the North Carolina Institute for Climate Studies, I created a Python model to generate maps and graphs of the US, illustrating the impact of teleconnection indices on the drought product. I am also developing an R-based machine learning model to predict drought intensity, improving the recall by 11% by analyzing teleconnection relevance. As a Machine Learning Research Engineer Intern at Samsung Research Institute, I elevated the data compression capabilities of a Convolutional Autoencoder model, from 65% to 98% accuracy used in compressing and transmitting beam values within a 6G-System MATLAB simulator using quantization. I am looking for full-time opportunities where I can leverage my machine learning, data science, and computer vision expertise to innovate and advance these fields.
