The overall purpose of the job is to ensure that assigned vessels and positions are adequately and competently manned and operated within the prescribed budget. As a member of the Crew Department, my job was to provide an effective, efficient and integrated service to colleagues within the office and Group international crewing network.Key tasks:- arrange crew changes for all crew on assigned vessels, using the most cost-effective and convenient travel routes and ensuring all crew certification is complete and valid at all times;- tracking the crew and ensuring the payroll is processed accurately and on time, making appropriate arrangements in compliance with company procedures;- monitor the seafarer recruitment processes, source offshore crew when required to fill vacancies, conducts background checks for all newly hired personnel;- ensure that assigned vessel manning levels comply with relevant international and Flag State legislation, and union agreements and, in consultation with the Fleet Superintendent, are compatible with the vessel’s maintenance needs, trading patterns and owner requirements;- preparation of a 12 month forward looking Crew Rotation Plan for assigned vessels.
