Teaching sustainable building courses on master and doctoral level studies. We strive to present students with basic knowledge and tools as well as state of the art in the field. Hence our students finish their studies with both practically useful knowledge as well as insight into global trends.

Developing a fully backward integrated timber construction company (sawmill to final product) for a private investor. Coordinating different engineering fields to achieve optimized raw material (including side stream) utilization and maximize ROI of an asset-heavy 50 M€ investment.

Leading the Sustainable building with renewable materials group, one of the 5 groups at the time at the institute. We covered topics from architectural, structural and acoustic design, LCA evaluations and cultural heritage issues. We worked on all TRL levels, from basic research to applied building design, supporting numerous domestic and foreign clients.

I led the international three year Hybrid Cross Laminated Timber Plates (HCLTP) research project focused on developing new types of more efficient hybrid crosslam plates. Two types of products and a production line plan were developed. The project partners were CBD d.o.o., MPA Otto Graf Institut, Wienna Technical University, Minda GmbH and Storaenso.I also led projects developing smart construction design and intelligent construction elements within the research programme IQ HOME, coordinating the work of 11 Slovenian partners.

I was managing the company's international research projects on timber engineering, and designing the load bearing structures for many of the larger domestic construction projects. In the ten years I designed over a hundred buildings.
