As a Senior Tutor at UK Young Autism Project, I continue to work passionately to support children with autism, now taking on additional leadership responsibilities within the team. My role builds on my experience with Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and includes:Mentoring and supporting junior tutors, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality intervention and professional growth.Collaborating with consultants and families to design, implement, and refine programs that meet the unique needs of each child.Monitoring and analysing progress data to inform decision-making and ensure impactful outcomes.

During my placement year with the UK Young Autism Project, I gained invaluable experience working as a tutor, supporting children with autism through individualized educational and therapeutic programs. I implemented Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) techniques to support skill development in communication, social interaction,cognition and daily living activities. This role greatly developed my ability to be patient, adaptable, and solution-focused when addressing challenges.

I signpost to resources and services that empower people to take proactive steps toward improved mental health, such as courses at the Recovery Academy. I am passionate about ensuring that people get the mental health support they deserve.

This role strengthened my skills in teamwork, communication, and problem-solving in a fast-paced retail environment.

During my volunteer work here, I developed knowledge on useful services such as Food Banks and welfare support.I worked alongside families to provide them with the skills and confidence to improve their lives.Provided me with a valuable insight into a variety of difficulties such as financial worries, physical and mental health problems, and isolation.This role furthered my confidence in communicating well in an array of settings such as family homes.

In this workshop, I worked collectively with people who were struggling with their mental health to write and record a Christmas song.This role provided me with experience of unique ways of improving mental health.
