My name is Izzy Yeomans, I am 21 years of age and I am in my 3rd year at York St John university studying Primary Education (5-11). My next step in my teaching career is securing a job as an ECT. I strive myself on being an enthusiastic and conscientious hard worker, with high standards for all my pupils’ to be happy and achieving. Creating a positive learning environment where children feel safe, comfortable and encouraged to share their thoughts and feelings is at the forefront of my teaching philosophy; aiming to remove any barriers which may restrict pupils to flourish in their learning. I have obtained diverse experience in both KS1 and KS2 through university and self-directed placements, covering a wide range of school contexts and settings. This includes varying school sizes (two form entry and mixed year groups), locations (areas of high and low deprivation), attainment levels and pupils needs and backgrounds (SEMH, SEND and behaviour). My school experiences (SE) organised by university have consisted of SE1 in year 6 (Doncaster), SE2 in year 1 (Doncaster) and SE3 in year 3/4 (York). These placements have equipped me with valuable skills, developing my teaching practice and placing me in great stead as a confident and reflective teacher.
