I worked with two undergraduates, Chiara Munzi (Founder and Head of Operations), and Yemane Kidane (Head of Marketing), to develop ChiChi, a chickpea-based breakfast brand. I conducted 100+ quantitative and qualitative interviews to discover what consumers value in breakfast products and used that information to create our first product, a high-protein breakfast bowl. I designed ChiChi's packaging and picked our brand colors to develop a brand identity using our logo created by Helen Jiang. Within 3 months of working on ChiChi we have launched online through our website, www.buychichi.com, and are developing a partnership to sell through WUSTL dining services. Our team earned 3rd place in the Skandalaris Venture Competition and are in the top 50 of the Baylor New Venture Competition! Go buy a delicious breakfast bowl! As a server, I have learned to balance the needs of 15+ guests while developing connections with customers, completing to-go orders, and bartending. This job has brought me great confidence while interacting with strangers and challenged me to work through language and cultural barriers within our staff.

I have come to value and understand the degree of work and dedication that is required when owning and operating a small business through my mother, Kris Gorton's, furniture store, Living on Main. I have been involved in greatly diverse components of the business including window and storefront creative design, coordination of purchase orders, vendor relations, furniture delivery, website design, and social media marketing.
