A key success in 2022 was securing £90,000 multi-year grant from The National Lottery Community Fund for LAA's Community Pet Support Scheme which provides free practical pet care for those who are elderly and/or with long term physical or mental health issues. Leicester Animal Aid is a dog and cat rescue and rehoming Centre in Huncote, Leicestershire, founded in 1956. LAA is an independent local charity (Registered Number 242560). The Centre helps dogs and cats that have been lost, abandoned, unwanted or whose owners can no longer care for them. As Fundraising Manager, I run a strategic multifaceted fundraising programme and I am also responsible for managing the Charity's communications, marketing and public relations. Fundraising roles:- Fundraising Strategy - Regular Giving including re-launching our Membership giving programme- Direct mail campaigns and email campaigns - Community fundraising - Events management - Philanthropy & major gifts - Trusts and grants fundraising - Corporate fundraising and volunteering - Legacy giving - Volunteer management and recruitment- Database management - Managing new product retail sales through a Ltd Company (profits go directly to the Charity) Communications, Marketing & PR roles:- Managing the website (www.leicesteranimalaid.org.uk) - Managing social media channels and Google Business and Maps listings - Creating marketing materials including leaflets, flyers and advertising - Editor of the twice-yearly newsletter (circulation of 12,000) and working with mailing houses- Press releases and media relationships (local and national) - Radio interviews - Presenting talks to community groups and companies about our work - Creating video content with our Volunteer Videographer - Visitor experience and tours

My primary role was to set up and manage named charitable funds for individuals, businesses and families to support local causes that they care about in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. I supported Women in Philanthropy with events management and promotion and I was also involved in the Foundation's branding and marketing. The Community Foundation works to support those who want to support their local community through charitable giving and match them to charities. The Foundation manages the legal, financial and administrative side of running a charitable fund so that fundholders can focus on the issues they care about and seeing the difference they are making in the local community. The Foundation also transfers dormant or onerous charities and trusts to the Foundation to continue their charitable aims as well as give out grants on behalf of Comic Relief, Red Nose Day and Big Lottery.www.llrcommunityfoundation.org.uk

I took some time out to do something different and to spend some time doing something I love. A great year walking dogs and pet sitting cats, rabbits, chickens and lots of other furry animals!I was able to transfer many of my skills to running a business. Organisational, scheduling, administrative and financial skills were invaluable. I also used my communications and marketing knowledge to create all of my publicity, including my website, flyers, adverts, business cards and social media promotion.My relationship building skills helped to build trust with new clients, maintain a good relationships to secure future bookings and to create a good reputation (reflected in my Google and Yell.com 5* reviews along with many repeat bookings). I managed a successful Annual Giving team including two full time members of staff and responsible for nearly 90 students. The programme included strong and diverse programme a large and effective telephone campaign schedule, direct mail, student prizes, a growing and popular parent and families programme along with staff and student giving.I was also responsible for the University's fundraising website, fundraising communications and donor stewardship for annual giving gifts. This included face-to-face stewardship for our top level annual giving donors. I also managed and reviewed our legacy giving programme.

Recruiting, training and managing 80 students on Warwick's successful and large scale telephone fundraising programme. Telephone campaigns took place throughout the year, with both UK and international fundraising taking place.I significantly increased fulfilment rates by implementing a more structured 'pledge chasing' scheme and managed a variety of overlapping calling campaigns including fundraising, stewardship, pledge chasing and parents calling campaigns. I introduced our first parents calling campaign in Sept 2011.

Whilst as Exeter I was mainly responsible for running the telephone fundraising programme. I managed 70 students and ran various UK and international campaigns, raising money for the University's fundraising campaign.
