Currently Auvis is the Tourism Director for Discover Crystal River Florida and Citrus County, "The Manatee Capital of the WORLD! His previous tourism professional experiences include Director of Association and Diversity business development for The Express Conferences. Auvis has also served as the Director of Sales and Services for Visit Fort Wayne, in Northeastern Indiana. Auvis is a leading executive leader in the industry with focuses on Diversity and Inclusion along with Sales and Business Development leadership. Auvis is also the former President and founder of the South Carolina Sports Alliance, which purpose is to promote sports tourism nationally through a collaborative statewide effort. Prior to his current position, Auvis held the position of interim President/CEO and Senior Vice President of the Rock Hill/York County CVB. Auvis also served as the Executive Director for the Union County Tourism Commission. His professional experiences have included senior level management, procurement, business and economic development. Auvis has also developed strategic marketing plans, and served as a company liaison during acquisition(s) and merger(s), leading to more efficient results. Auvis is seen as a leader in the hospitality industry and has also won various awards from the destinations he has represented. Auvis has also given back to his communities through various board appointments, volunteering, speaking engagements and outreach programs.He graduated from Central State University in Ohio in 2001 with a B.A. in Communications and minor in Business. In 2004, he received his M.B.A in International Business and Marketing from Wright State University. In 2010, Auvis successfully completed South Carolina’s Economic Development Institute and became a Riley Institute Fellow in the Diversity Leadership Initiative program at Furman University.
