As a Mental Health Technician at Halifax Health, I provide continuous patient care, direct observation, interaction, and positive role modeling to the child, adolescent, adult, or geriatric patient in a manner that promotes safety and therapeutic treatment. I have been working in this role for 10 months, applying my skills in mental training, process improvement, and suicide prevention to support the mental health and well-being of diverse populations.I am also an Instructor and a Platoon Sergeant at the Florida Army National Guard, where I have been serving for over 17 years. I facilitate Basic Leader Course students' maturation using a variety of instruction methods, ensure compliance with safety and environmental protection rules and regulations, and manage the training, health, and welfare of personnel and their families during deployments. I am a certified Master Resilience Trainer, and I have published a research study on the effects of various educational frameworks on service members' perceptions of self-efficacy, grit, and resiliency. My purpose in life is to help people gain clarity and focus on their lives, and to create purposeful action in others to build the life they want and achieve the goals they set out for. I am passionate about bringing forth my knowledge in every aspect of my career and continuing to educate myself so that I may be increasingly effective in my pursuit of helping others.
