Controls Engineer
CurrentPerform controls engineering design and technical analysis activities, working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), Human Machine Interface (HMI's) and other field controls interfaces. Works primarily with the Control Logix Platform and GE/Fanuc iFIX to deliver modern, remotely driven automated solutions. Planning, developing, and implementing technical projects through practical application of controls engineering analysis/design while utilizing knowledge of Colonial’s engineering standards, material specifications, pipeline equipment, fundamental system operations, regulatory requirements, Management of Change procedures and safe work practices. Upgrade of legacy systems (Struthers-Dunn, B&R, Proprietary) to Allen-Bradley ContolLogix. Utilize various communication protocols/drivers consisting of Serial, MODBUS, MODBUS TCP/IP, Ethernet TCP/IP, OPC and IGS. Establish and test SCADA RTU communications via proprietary protocol with ProSoft ADM and Miille Omnii-Comm. Establish and maintain SQL Server DB and TiPs LogMate connection to DCS to ensure Alarm Management System in compliant with CRM rules. Establish and maintain DCS connection to Leak Detection Systems in Field Control Center.
