Now (mostly) retired, the majority of my career (1975 to 2008) was with AgustaWestland (formerly Westland Helicopters Ltd). I started as a vibration specialist but was later Chief Designer for the Lynx, and then the EH101. In my final years I headed technical support for marketing.I began my career in 1969 as a student apprentice with Rootes Motors who became Chrysler UK. After graduation, I worked on vehicle noise and vibration before leaving to join Westland.Since 'retiring' I have returned to automotive matters and have written technical and other articles, notably on the Model T Ford and Sunbeam Alpine - I drive an example of each.I am also a Parish Councillor and a volunteer at Haynes International Motor Museum and West Coker's historic ropewalk.
