Chief Technology Officer for startup company that focused on a new credit card rewards platform that used savings and life insurance as a rewards vehicle. Company was created and led by Phil Mickelson, professional golfer. Company achieved a test market with one of the country's largest banks in 2009 which was a "grand slam" and then the economy collapsed shortly thereafter. The concept was put on the shelf at that point. It was a pleasure to work with and to get to know Phil Mickelson. Phil is one of the nicest (and smartest) people I have met.

Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President. Led Regal through a period of incredible growth that included 19 acquisitions. We grew the company during my 13 years from a few dozen employees to 25,000+ employees with 575 locations in 42 different states. In 2006 we supported and maintained approximately 11,000 IT workstations and the IT department employed approximately 80 FTE's. We also employed a 24/7/365 help desk that was outsourced to SAIC. Was chosen as one of Top Ten CIO's in retail in 2002. The list of leading CIO's included Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Radio Shack and other high profile companies. Was chosen by Microsoft as one of their 4 key marketing partners in 2005....this was quite an honor. I played a major role in the creation and formation and management of www.fandango.com which was sold to Comcast in 2009 for $200 million. Working in a public company environment is complicated and demanding. The PCI and Sarbanes compliance issues were exceedingly demanding requiring tremendous discipline and exceptional decision making. .

Led the company through a period of substantial growth where the company was private, then public and back to private. Built and managed the entire IT infrastructure and staff. Let the company to Class A MRP status in the late 80's. This was a difficult and demanding environment for a variety of reasons but also a great experience and the company was willing to invest in technology.

Supported Service Order Entry system for two large customers including Carolina Telephone and Telegraph and United Intermountain Telephone. System was written in Assembler Language so I maintained existing code and made major functionality changes as necessary.

Also participated on a team that was designing and architecting the Student Admission System of the future. Great experience in a very creative environment. Worked for Ramsey Valentine who managed all software applications on the Knoxville campus.

Started as a computer operator. Was promoted to a team developing Fortran software that supported leading edge glass processing at a Float Glass Plant in Church Hill, Tennessee. Then promoted to Systems Analyst supporting an maintaining the company's order entry systems.

Fort Campbell, Fort Gordon, Camp Fatenma Okinawa, Ft Hood Texas

Served faithfully and honorably in the US military for 2 years and 11 months through a very difficult time (the 60's) when the military wasn't appreciated or respected. Achieved a Top Secret Crypto clearance and managed top secret communications from Viet Nam (from 5 cities/bases within Viet Nam) back to the US.
