I have a catch phrase that I use; "If you cut my wrist, a kid will fall out, instead of blood". Meaning, "this is my life."I visit their schools, always advocating for boys wherever they are, who ever they are, at times on some weird hours, in the streets, at homes in their neighborhoods, sporting events and sometimes in the malls.I also enjoy recruiting adult males that have that same love for boys.We randomly find ourselves buying clothes for some of the boys, taking them on field trips, with the hopes that they will get a glimpse of what they can become, Teaching:- Life Skills - Leadership Development- Spiritual Development - Conducting Interviews- Self Esteem- Respect Self/Others/ Females/ Authority - Character Development- Vocabulary Building- Conflict Resolution- Conducting InterviewsWe've participated in Marching in parades, also teaching them that their lives have worth.We can say these 45 boys are not on the streets becoming bored for two hours.the word of God says to "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Hi my name is Julian (Jay) Johnson, Married for 22 years to my lovely wife Portia and we have 3 children together. I have been working with youth for over 25 years. Starting with a nationally known organization named Young Life. My heart and passion is to see young people (in particularly boys) succeed. I worked for the two other organizations before embracing what I call as a calling from God, the man upstairs to some but to me the one in my heart, and whom I live for. The vision of Saving Our Boys Now came while working for the department of corrections. I witnessed nearly 20 boys enter the gates of the prison every week, in shackles and chains which tore my heart into pieces. I started sobbing, this is when I heard the voice of Lord say: we’re going to use this...Hence the name SOBN, short for: Saving Our Boys Now. This by the way continues to rock me to my core till this day. Therefore I wanted to do something therefore SOBN was birthed. I wanted to continue working my passion, helping young boys believe in themselves and in Jesus enough to achieve and soar to become who they are designed to become, successful men. Yes that’s what I said men. I wanted to be a part of the solution. I have dedicated the rest of my life to my God and vowing to help pull our boys to a Healthier present and a promising tomorrow.
