After 40 years of working as an IT professional, I am still excited by creating systems and software that can have a significant impact on an organization’s success. Solving interesting and meaningful problems, expanding my own capabilities to meet new challenges, and working with other highly talented individuals is what keeps me engaged on a daily basis.I've worn many different hats over the course of my career, often simultaneously - software developer, systems architect, technical customer liaison, systems engineer, systems administrator to name a few. In all cases, the primary goal has been delivering production software systems and services that meet or exceed the needs of the target customer or user base. Technical expertise alone is not enough to successfully bring such systems to fruition; maintaining a solid and continuing understanding of the stakeholders' requirements, constraints and strategic direction in their terms, and being able to translate them into technical solutions is a must. For the past decade in particular this has been my focus, and is where I feel I excel.My background spans the telecommunications, financial, cybersecurity and federal consulting industries, with experience in n-tier systems, web services, end-user applications, network programming, and instrumentation of systems for effective monitoring and management.
